Delhi high court receives bomb threat via email

NEW DELHI: A day before Independence Day, the Delhi High Court, Terminal 3 of Delhi airport and several government offices in the national capital received bomb threats via email on Friday.Police declared all the threats hoaxes after carrying out searches and security checks at the locations.A police source said the Delhi Cantonment SDM Office received an email at 11.18 am, followed by Terminal 3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) at 11:32 am, Jamnagar House at 11.40 am, Saket SDM Office at 11:42 am and Jhandewalan at 11:57 am. The threats were reported to the Fire Control Room.The threatening email reportedly referred to August 15 and carried the warning, “Lal Qila ta nishana hove ga” (the Red Fort will be targeted). It also claimed that those carrying out the bombing would be dressed in khaki, apparently suggesting the involvement of uniformed personnel in the alleged operation.Teams from the Delhi Police, bomb squad and fire brigade were sent to all five locations, and the threats were declared hoaxes after checks.
